Game Plan for Installing Sod Like a Pro
Step 1: Pre-Game Warm-Up
Start by applying a commercial vegetation killer and let it sit for about 2 weeks. This gives it time to clear out the old players and get the field ready for the new team.
Step 2: Roster Clean-Up
Remove the old lawn by cutting and digging down 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches, and dispose of all debris. Clear the field to make room for the new turf champions.
Step 3: Field Leveling
Grade and level the remaining soil surface, smoothing out any low or high spots. This ensures a perfectly even playing field for the new sod.
Step 4: Turf Installation
Lay down the new sod with precision, making sure every piece fits together perfectly with no gaps. Get the turf installed like a well-coached game plan, ensuring a seamless transition.
